About Us
Our Journey
Hi, we're Amanda Paul and Sam White. Amanda's grandfather, Wilbert, founded the farm in 1939 with a plow and one blind horse. Her family milked cows until 2003, when her dad, Jim, had to make the heartbreaking decision to quit. Amanda's grandfather, dad, and uncle Gene decided years ago never to ramp up production to the point where soil health would suffer. With milk prices very low, they switched to grass-fed beef.
With the untimely passing of Jim in 2009 and then Gene in 2015, Amanda and Sam took over the management of the family farm with our two-month-old son. It was quite a struggle at first, but we worked it out. Today, we offer grass-fed (and finished) beef, pasture-ranged eggs, whole pasture-raised chickens from our neighbors, honey, and red raspberries.
Leaning Pine Farm adopted stringent conservation practices in the early 1940's, and we continue those practices today. Head over to our Practices page to learn more, and shop our online store for delicious beef, chicken, eggs, and more!
